Professional Counseling Service opened in Killeen in 1973 by Warren Townsend LCSW, BCD. At the time, PCS was the only full time private counseling in Bell or Coryell Counties. Linda Townsend RN, MS, CS, LPC joined the practice in 1979 and the Copperas Cove office was opened.
In 2013 Warren and Linda Townsend semi-retired and Jeffrey D. Robbins became the president. Jeffrey D. Robbins graduated from George Williams School of Social Work in 1995. He specializes in helping people heal from trauma, moving from a state of surviving to thriving. He has expertise in helping military families cope with issues, such as deployment, loss and frequent moves.
In September of 2017 Warren and Linda fully retired and the office in Copperas Cove was closed.
The practice includes several therapists providing comprehensive services to children and families in the surrounding area. Many of the therapist utilize a Christ Centered approach to therapy.

With the insight and understanding gained in therapy, clients are able to heal their emotional pain, shift their perspectives, and make choices that create experiences and relationships which promote happiness and meaning.
